Imaging Services

Whether you need an X-ray for a broken bone, ultrasound to catch a glimpse of your unborn baby, or a routine mammogram, Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center's Imaging Center has the equipment and experienced staff to get it done quickly and accurately -- while making your visit as comfortable as possible.

Imaging Doctors

We're state-of-the-art -- and digital.

What do you need? We offer a full range of equipment and diagnostic procedures, including a 64-slice CT scanner, an MRI with breast and cardiac capabilities, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, interventional radiology, fluoroscopy, and PET/CT. We also have a Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS), which lets us share your diagnostic images with other medical facilities so you don't have to carry them to every physician you see.

All of our equipment is digital. For example, when you get an X-ray, you don't need to wait for the film -- your image will be up on the screen within seconds. The faster our imaging services are, the faster you can be back with your loved ones.

Imaging Team

Your comfort is our priority.

If you've ever had an MRI, you know how claustrophobic you can feel inside the closed magnet. Not in our MRI machine -- it has a long opening on either side so you feel more like you're in a tanning bed than an MRI machine.

In our Women's Imaging Center's mammogram area, we foster a spa-like atmosphere with a fountain and soothing nature sounds. And for your mammogram we use a Mammopad, which is a pad that goes on the bottom plate to soften the compression you'll feel as we perform the procedure.

Special care for women.

Our Women's Imaging Center offers a full complement of imaging services for women, including:

  • Digital mammography
  • Ultrasound
  • Coordination with hospital radiology for breast MRI

Not only do we have a spa-like environment and Mammopad to make your mammogram more comfortable -- if a possible cancer shows up on the mammogram, our Diagnostic Nurse Navigator, AnnMarie Simmons, will be your coach and care coordinator as you go through further tests, and potentially treatment. She'll answer all your questions and help you through the process of being diagnosed and getting well.
